The Changsha Airport-Type National Logistics Hub, located in the city's free trade pilot zone adjacent to the airport, adopts a "dual-zone multi-linkage" distribution model comprising a northern core functional area and a southern complementary functional area, covering a total area of 7.38 square kilometers. The hub already houses the Huanghua Comprehensive Bonded Zone and a logistics service cluster, attracting leading logistics companies such as China Post, SF Express, YTO Express, ZTO Express, and Yuhu. It boasts 500,000 square meters of operational warehousing facilities, including an 87,000-square-meter air cargo terminal with an annual handling capacity of 470,000 tons.
Innovatively, the hub has established a "1+1+N" enterprise alliance led by the Hunan Free Trade Zone LinKong Industrial Investment Group and joined by companies like Hunan Airport Logistics Co., Ltd. As a central air freight node in the region, it connects with existing platforms such as the Beijing-Guangzhou High-Speed Railway, Changsha Port, and Yugong Port, as well as major airport hubs in Shenzhen, Wuhan, and Zhengzhou, forming an efficient smart logistics network. Through express models like "post-cross-border integration," "cross-border single-lock," and "air-rail combined transport," it can reduce logistics costs for high-value-added products by over 20%.
By enhancing hub coordination, route synergy, and airport economy cooperation, the hub promotes collaborative operations within the "Central China Airport Cluster," sharing passenger and cargo resources. It also links fast-flight networks with core cities along the Yangtze River Economic Belt, such as the Yangtze River Delta and Chengdu-Chongqing, building an efficient aerial corridor to boost regional collaboration and development.
As a critical aviation node where the Silk Road of the Belt and Road Initiative intersects with the New Western Land-Sea Corridor, the Changsha Airport-Type National Logistics Hub operates 14 regular international passenger and cargo routes. It synergizes with international logistics channels like the China-Europe Railway Express (Changsha), effectively integrating into China’s "corridor + hub + network" modern logistics system. This will enhance logistics efficiency and cost reduction in Hunan and neighboring regions while accelerating the global expansion of local products and industries. Moreover, it will further expand China-Africa economic and trade cooperation, vigorously supporting the Belt and Road Initiative.
